Certificates of Roadworthiness

Certificate of Roadworthiness issued by Motor Tax Office on receipt of Pass Statement from Authorised Test Centre and fee.

Two types of Certificate:

• Light goods vehicle
• Heavy vehicle

Light goods vehicle:

• Up to 3500kg gross design vehicle weight
• Test due when vehicle is 1 year old and every year after that
• €6.00 fee for Certificate of Roadworthiness

Heavy Vehicle

• Goods vehicles and trailers exceeding 3500kg gross design vehicle weight
• Vehicle with 8 or more passenger seats, excluding driver
• Ambulances
• Test due when vehicle is 1 year old and annually after that.
• €13.00 fee for Certificate of Roadworthiness
