Role of HR Department
The Human Resources Department is committed to achieving the objectives of Limerick City Council by delivering effective Human Resources Management to the highest standards through sourcing, developing and enabling staff at all levels.
Its primary functions includes ;
- the recruitment, selection and training of staff
- the provision and maintenance of services for staff welfare
- industrial relations
- Health & Safety
- Equality
- general administration duties.
Limerick City Council has a workforce of approximately 620 at end of December 2006, ranging over the areas of management, technical, engineering, clerical/administrative, crafts, general operatives, fire-fighters and in addition employs staff under the Community Employment and other schemes.
The Human Resources Section provides an internal service and has minimum contact with the public with the exception of staff recruitment.
