Public Lighting

The maintenance of street lighting is carried out under contract by the Airtricity for Limerick City Council. Limerick City Council replaced approximately 3,000 obsolete lighting lanterns and installed new modern sodium lighting.

These lights provide an enhanced performance and generate an energy saving for the City Council. Limerick City Council is also considering further improvements to lighting throughout the city, particularly in the city centre area.
